On March 3, 1924, a fire destroyed the first Troop K Headquarters, the History Gedney Farms. In 1929, Troop K Headquarters moved from the White Plains Armory into the “Castle” located in Hawthorne. The Castle was known as the most beautiful police station in the world and boasted lavish flower gardens complete with a courtyard shaped like the New York State Police shield.
